Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback Dwayne Haskins lethally struck by a dump truck on Florida interstate, police say
quarterback and 2018 Heisman Trophy finalist at Ohio State, was lethally struck by a dump truck Saturday morning while at the same time attempting to go across a parkway by walking in South Florida, police said.
Haskins, who re-endorsed with the Steelers last month, was 24.
Haskins was attempting to cross Interstate 595's headed westward paths, close to the Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport in Broward County, when the landfill truck hit him, the Florida Highway Patrol said. The episode was accounted for not long after 6:30 a.m., the watch said.
He was "strolling on (the thruway) for obscure reasons" when the episode occurred, the watch said in a news discharge.
Insights regarding what hinted at that weren't promptly accessible. As of late, Haskins had been in South Florida working out with some Steelers partners, as caught in Instagram stories from Haskins and Steelers running back Najee Harris.
